about me

I'm Pendar, a engineering graduate student user experience designer with a passion for user-centered design. I also love doing illustrations and write a syndicated comic strip.

My claim to fame so far has been the implementation of two successful cultural campaigns which both generated quite a media hype. The first one was the infamous Arabian Gulf google bomb which you can read more about here. The second one is an artistic collaborative project called project 300.

This website houses my sketches, portfolio, photography, blogs, and my online store. I also accept design projects and commissioned work. You can see samples of my work here. If you are serious about a project please use the form below to contact me.

About the site

This is version 2 of mahimoto.com (formerly legofish.com, until LEGO took away my domain name!), redesigned in November 2005. In redesigning the website, my main goals were to design a site that: fully validates in both html and css, and is 'Persian'. The challenge was to stay away from the cliches and come up with something that is modern and elegant, using traditional Persian patterns.

Every graphical element in this site is modeled after real-life Persian patterns. For instance, the buttons are modeled from tile patterns found on the walls of the City Theatre in Tehran. The date display slide-rule mechanism is modeled after patterns I found on walls of a mosque in Isfahan. Even the bullets, are mosaic patterns from walls of an Iranian church!
