Weekend

Friday I ended up crashing at Hossein's, watching Capturing the Freidmans (excellent documentary, interesting how sometimes it's impossible to know the truth about things), and of course with all the extra features on the DVD took us well til 4:00 AM to finish watching it. Luckily, I live within a 10 minute walking distance from their place, and the weather was so unimaginably nice and the walk home was really refreshing.

Anyway, then today I cleaned the house a bit, took some random photos of "objects" (I'll post them gradually), returned the DVD, listened to hossein's zero 7 album (it's great). It was a friend's birthday and I was invited to the club, Money. I had to turn down the invitation cuz I was going to study a bit, but then some other friends called me again on their way there and so I went. Despite the stupid wait in the line up it was fun, and of course we hit 7-west for some food and now I'm here ... and what a totally useless entry.

Hmmm, oh yeah I was going to wake up at 6:30 today morning to watch Iran's game against China (olympic qualifiers). I over slept and woke up at 9:30, only to find out Iran had lost 3-1. It's so sad to see the Iranian olympic side do so poorly EVERY year (last time Iran was in the olympics was '76)! Mayeli Kohan is the coach, eventhough everyone loves to hate him for his religious fanaticism, I always admired him, because Iran's best team in the recent history was Mayeli's '96 side. He also coached the Futsal side which took the 4th place in the first Futsal world cup.

But, he messed up big time with the olympic team this time, there's absolutely no excuse ... very sad. Let's hope Team Melli will do better, although there's still a long long long way ahead to World Cup '06.
