Woman Ironing
My mom is a painter and my dad was also a painting enthusiast. So there were always TONS of painting books, works of great painters and such lying around the house when we were growing up. And I used to look at them when I was bored, so it's sort of been etched in my subconscious i think, and the ability to recognize correctly - more often than not - to which painter a particular piece belongs to.
Anyway, I was browsing some classic art online, taking a little break, today. And I saw some picassos.
What's your least picassoesque favorite picasso?
Mine's this.
And can you believe this is a picasso too? I don't think I had seen it before. It's so Renoir.
.
I guess I have to say my least favorite work of him is this: http://tigtail.org/TVM/X2/c.PImpressionism/picasso/M/picasso_burial_of_casagemas.1901.jpg
It’s just nothing like his other work in terms of subject and style. I think he did this when he first started and hadn’t developed his “Picasso” style yet!

the second one os very similar to renoir, but something aboout the angularities gives it away

If there is ever a book I would push on a painting enthusiast like yourself, "my name is red" would have to be it. I read it maybe a year ago and it is one of Orhan Pamuks best works.
Whenever you have a week off school read it. I'll slap you if you don't! Its THAT good.

hmm, thanks for the tip.
And Sheyda, excuse my bad wording, I meant that is my most favorite picasso from all the least picassoesque works done by picasso!!! it probably still doesn't make sense .. anyway I love the Woman Ironing.

No! Actually now that I'm reading it for the second time what you said DOES make sense! I actually though to myself: “why does he wanna know what people’s least favorite painting by Picasso is?!” I didn't pay enough attention when I read it the first time I guess! Regardless! That painting IS my least favorite!!;)
