Late Night with Leg 'O Fish

I'm posting this mainly cuz the accumulated linkdumps on the top looked ugly, so it's not going to contain anything insightful, really.

I've been perhaps the busiest I've ever been in my life lately, working on my Masters project among other stuff, and I sort of don't have the inspiration to blog anymore. But anyway. There was a breakthru in my project today, I finally debugged something in my code which had been screwing with me for a long time, I hope the simulation results would make sense tomorrow, they just have to.

Hmm, what else? Stephen Harper (Conservative party leader) had written an article for the Varsity last week. That issue never went online (not sure why), and I didn't even read it. It was about education and I guess he was blasting Rae. Anyway now Jack Layton (NDP leader) wants to publish a rebuttal, in the Varsity of course. I've been asked to do a cartoon to go with Layton's article. It's sort of exciting I guess. I've already finished it, but I'm not sure if they'd accept what I've done. It might be a little too extreme. I mean it would be fine for a piece written by somebody else. But for Layton's own article, I don't know. So I'm pretty sure they're going to ask me to redo it. BUT, if they run what I've already done, it would be super wicked. I'll post it later whether they accept or reject it.

Ya, and the weather, I think the winter finally woke up, it's like -35 now (with wind chill) and it's going to be the same way for a few days at least. It's hard to imagine it was +18 last week!

What else? Looks like the Kaiserslautern player Fereydoon Zandi, who has an Iranian father, has finally made up his mind about joining the Iranian national team. He's decided to go, and will probably be in the test match against Bosnia too. That's good news. I haven't seen him play but apparently he's an excellent player. The amount of talent in Team Melli is ridiculous; Karimi, Mahdavikia, Daei, Hashemian, Rezaei plus the return of the great Navidikia, plus all the talented youngsters like Mobali and Zare and Ka'bi (who i dont like that much). And now the addition of Zandi. It would be a crime if we didn't qualify for the world cup.

Oh Metric's playing in the Mod club on the weekend. It began with 2 shows but the demand was so much that they've already added TWO extra shows, it's almost insane. Yes I'm going.
